To celebrate National Heritage Week we invite you to enjoy our museum visitor experience, free of charge, including a welcome video and guided tour at from 10 am until 4pm.

 

Hear the Stories of Mountmellick's rich Quaker Heritage, the Famine, Mountmellick Workhouse and the girls transported to Australia under the Earl Grey Scheme, Mountmellick Embroidery and the dynamic women involved since 1825, and much much more.

 

Here at the museum embroidery connects satisfyingly in a timeless circle, with much loved old household pieces alongside new contemporary fashioned items. We hope the two feel quiet at ease together, the antique and the future antique side by side.
